This years Layst in RI will be June 28, 2008 and it will be more epic than ever.

The meeting spot will be announced in the near future with directions to each spot as well. The approximate location of the event will be held in Warwick Rhode Island. We encourage people from all over to attend this event. Check out the edit below of last year’s comp.

I am so sorry, I have been the busiest person, minus the internet 2 weeks, equals “Stressed Armstrong”. I am here to inform you of 3 contests, I will make a post for each soon, but I just thought I would let you know. First of which is the Rich City Royale which will be June 1, 2008
This competetion is being held by Michael Rose, he gave me format of the competion which is below:

RICH-CITY ROYALE

Format:

IMYTA style format; Jam Session Prelims, Semi Finals, and Finals Heats of no lessthan 8 Competitors advance by matching tricks preformed by the person beforethem, or landing a more advanced trick that is similar. Then, the next competitor must match or “One-Up” the original trick, and so on. When a competitor fails tocomplete 3 tricks, they will be removed from the Heat. Each competitor will receive one chance at the trick during Prelims, and 2 chances during Semi’s.

Example:

Skater A does a torquesoul.Skater B must do a torque soul or better, such as top-torque soul. Skater C must do a torque soul or better.

The final 3 competitors in each Prelim Heat will advance to Semi-FinalsSemi-Finals will contain no more than 8 competitors in each heat. The final competitor from each Semi-Final Heat will advance. 6 Competitors TOTAL will advance from Semi Finals to Finals. Winner of competition will be decided by the Crowd Reaction and Judge Approval of the Final Trick that will end the contest.

There will be a caravan leaving Woodland Skatepark at 11:00 am that anyone is welcome to join. Directions from Interstate exit will be posted on The Way Skate Shop’s website, their Myspace, as well as Rollernews and Be-Mag.

Pricing Information:

To be able to compete for the Grand Prize, you will need to Register with the Judges and pay a $10 Competitors Fee. All proceeds will be received by the Winner.

The next order of business is this year’s KY Battle08 which is the 8th annual, yes the KY Battle started in 2000. This year we are ripping apart the KY Battle totally from it’s original Lexington/Louisville basis and making it to two different events. The KY Battle Lexington will be held on June 28, 2008. Which will have the After Party of a Lifetime, trust me…. The KY Battle Louisville will be this year’s Southeast Regional and to be held Aug 2, 2008. I will have more info and separate posts for each soon. Come out and support the Roll Series, it’s so dope.

2007 BSB Contest edit

So the tentative date for the battle is saturday the 12th of July 2008. I say this is tentative because we still need to make sure we have enough time but I am about 95% confident that this will be the date. We have two of the three spots worked out but we still need the first one. More updates coming soon.

The bible belt battle went very smoothly accept getting busted at the first spot, and clarksvilles finest coming to the afterparty to throw out the thugs and giving (jeremy Arnold) a ticket for contributing to a minor. Other than that the contest was amazing. Mark Wojda killed everything he touched, Stuart Baird got pretty tech and amazed everyone, Brian Starnes did the burlyiest sweaty down a death kink , and James Purvience skated great too. Congragulations to all the winners and thanks to the sponsors…Asphalt Beach, 4×4, Radius Media, and Rat Tail Distribution. Also i want to give Doug Williams a huge thank you for helping me with everything, and also my lovely girlfriend Erin Lucey for her help too.

Rules…

There are 12 + spots for this contest but the skaters participating will vote their favorite 4 out of the 12. Voting will be done before the competition when everyone arrives.The day of the competition everyone will meet at the spot listed below. The first 2 spots will be pre-lims, the 3rd spot will be simi-finals and 4th will be the finals. A $5 entry fee is required to participate to award the winner and donations will be appreciated from spectators but not required..All the spots are pictured below.

Time and place…

Everyone skating and spectating will need to meet across the street at the skatepark from:

1230 peachers mill rd. clarksville, TN, 37042 @ 12:00 P.M.

We will be leaving for the first spot around 1 to 1:30 P.M.

AFTERPARTY and ACCOMIDATIONS…

The afterparty will be at a cabin/banquet hall that has been rented for the rolling festivities. The cabin has a bar that will be stocked, kegs, music, free hotdogs, a bonfire and other activites that are being worked on. Accomidations are your choice. Camping at the cabin (So be sure to bring a tent) or multiple hotel choices off of exit 4 on I-24. Also a group rated hotel has been arranged at the following hotel below. This is 3 miles from the afterparty.

Here is the preliminary plan…

The 7th annual WCR will likely be on Friday, June 13th and Saturday June 14, 2008 (the only other options are July 12th or 19th).

The pre-contest events–flatland, high jump, long jump and dunk contest–will likely start at 5:00pm on Friday. Then, the first of four spots will be on Friday after the pre-contest. There will be no elimination at any of the spots, as usual. Friday’s events should end at about 9:00pm. We, of course, can have an after party on Friday somewhere.

The contest will resume on Saturday at about 3:00pm. We’ll go to 3 spots. The contest should conclude by 7:00pm. We can have the final ceremonies in a similar fashion as last year around 10:00pm.
